CHARLOTTE, NC. — Krispy Kreme, Inc. has partnered with Jafa Holding BV to open stores in The Netherlands, which the donut company describes as a “significant milestone” in its ongoing global expansion through its capital-light franchise model.
The first Hot Light Theater Shop is expected to open in The Netherlands in late 2026 and will act as both a retail location and a production hub. Krispy Kreme described the opening as part of a broader phased expansion across The Netherlands and expects to open approximately 30 locations in the next five years.
“We’re thrilled to bring Krispy Kreme’s delicious, fresh donuts to The Netherlands,” said Josh Charlesworth, chief executive officer of Krispy Kreme, Inc. “Partnering with Jafa Holding BV, an experienced operator with deep knowledge of the local market, expands our European presence and reinforces our commitment to sustainable, profitable growth through our capital-light franchise model.”
Krispy Kreme aims to open at least 100 stores across the globe and three to four new international markets, including The Netherlands, throughout the year. The company opened stores in Spain, Brazil and Uzbekistan in 2025.
