LEXINGTON, KY. — Wilde has amped up its protein-centric snack portfolio with the addition of Wilde Protein Crackers.
The Wilde Protein Crackers are a take on the company’s Wild Protein Chips that are made with chicken breast, native tapioca starch, high oleic expeller pressed sunflower oil, egg whites and chicken bone broth. The company also offers pork-based chips.
With no refrigeration needed, the crackers also are formulated with chicken breast, chicken bone broth and cheese, resulting in a snack that offers 12 grams of protein per serving.
Wilde Protein Crackers come in classic cheddar, smoked gouda, buffalo cheddar and hot honey flavors and are available in 1.06-oz singles and multipacks to 9-0z family-size bags.
“Crackers haven’t changed in decades,” said Jason Wright, founder and chief executive officer of Wilde. “We rebuilt them with chicken breast as the No. 1 ingredient. You get the crunch, the flavor, the snack you remember. But the protein is real and it comes from food you’d cook with. No fillers, no protein powder, no compromise on what a cracker should taste like.”
Alongside growing its portfolio, the company is growing its operations as well.
The company opened a 100,000-square-foot facility in April.
The company said the facility will expand production capacity sixfold.
Wilde Protein Crackers will begin rolling out nationally today. Distribution will continue expanding throughout the spring, with broader retail availability planned for the summer, according to the company.
