KANSAS CITY — New snack offerings are making their way into retailers.
The Kraft Heinz Co. is launching a reformulated Jell-O snack line. Jell-O Simply is made without FD&C colors and artificial sweeteners. The line features instant pudding mix, gelatin mix and ready-to-eat gelatin.
Jell-O Simply Ready-to-Eat is formulated with fruit juice and is offered in orange, raspberry lemonade and blueberry flavors. The product line features 25% less sugar than Jell-O’s original formulation, according to the company.
Jell-O Simply gelatin and instant pudding mixes feature four varieties formulated with vanilla, chocolate, banana and strawberry. Each variety is sweetened with sugar and stevia extract.
Old Wisconsin is launching resized varieties of its Smoke Stacks line of products at a lower price point. The snack sticks are now available in a 2-oz offering in flavors such as pepperoni cheddar, turkey sausage and cheddar cheese and beef sausage and jalapeño cheese. Each stick contains 12 grams of protein per serving.
Bel US is adding protein-infused varieties to its GoGo Squeez brand.
GoGo dairy protein snacks are made with fruit and milk and contain 10 grams of protein. The snack is offered in mixed berry and strawberry flavors.
GoGo’s fruit smoothie protein snack is formulated with plant protein and fruit. Each dairy-free smoothie features 8 grams of protein. The smoothie is available in tropical smoothie and apple cinnamon flavors.
“By providing on-the-go and beyond-the-fridge convenience and simple ingredients that many traditional protein snacks do not provide, with real fruit and no added sugar, this is a snack that keeps pace with the next generation’s lifestyle — with all the real nutrients and none of the trade-offs,” said Carolina Cespedes Virguez, general manager of GoGo Squeez at Bel US.
