KANSAS CITY — Manufacturers are leaning into nut-based flavors with new products.
Seven Sundays is launching PB Puffs, a peanut butter protein cereal. The cereal is formulated with 10 grams of upcycled oat protein per serving and corn flour and is sweetened with dates and maple syrup.
Ferrero North America is launching its first new Nutella flavor in six decades with Nutella peanut. The flavor innovation blends the texture of Nutella with the taste of roasted peanuts.
“Nutella peanut delivers the same creamy experience fans know and love, now blended with the irresistible taste of roasted peanuts,” said Noah Szporn, senior vice president of spreads, Ferrero North America. “Our fans have been asking for this for years. We heard them, and afternoon snack time will never be the same.”
Once Again is adding high-protein squeeze packs to its nut butter product portfolio. Each single-serve pack contains 8 grams of protein. The squeeze packs are available in four varieties: organic peanut, organic chocolate peanut, organic sunflower and natural almond.
“Portable, high-protein snacks continue to resonate in the natural foods category as consumers look for convenient, clean nutrition that fits seamlessly into their day,” said Sudheer Kosaraju, chief commercial officer at Once Again. “These squeeze packs deliver the protein consumers want in a simple format that supports busy, active lifestyles — whether at the office, the gym or on the trail.”
