LAREDO, TEXAS — Siete Foods, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, Inc., has launched two new tortillas: Maíz tortillas and sourdough style tortillas.
Maíz tortillas are made from olive oil and sea salt that give them a corn flavor and soft texture. They are also US Department of Agriculture organic, gluten-free, vegan and non-GMO.
Sourdough style tortillas are flour-like tortillas made with modern fermentation methods and feature a soft texture and mild sourdough style tang. They are also gluten-free, vegan and non-GMO.
“At Siete, we believe tortillas are a symbol of connection, culture, and gathering,” said Andrés Figueroa, vice president of innovation for Siete Foods. “From the earliest form of tortillas to new expressions inspired by today’s tastes and dietary needs, we are proud to continue expanding our gluten-free portfolio in ways that honor where we come from while serving the evolving needs of our community.”
Maíz tortillas come in 12-count packs for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $4.99 while sourdough style tortillas come in 10-count packs for a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $6.99. Both varieties will be available at various US retail chains, including Whole Foods Market, Target and Sprouts.
