Samyang launches spicy macaroni and cheese

SEOUL — Samyang Foods, the company best known for making Buldak a viral heat sensation, has launched new Buldak macaroni and cheese.

Since Buldak is considered “the gold standard of hot and spicy flavor,” the new macaroni and cheese comes in two varieties — sweet corn Buldak macaroni and cheese and Carbonara Buldak macaroni and cheese — that both combine “creamy indulgence and signature heat,” Samyang said.

“Traditional mac and cheese has remained unchanged for decades, leaving a massive opportunity for a product that speaks to the modern palate,” said Youngsik Shin, chief executive officer at Samyang America. “By combining the creamy indulgence of mac and cheese with the signature Buldak sauce, we are creating an entirely new eating occasion that moves beyond the pantry staple into a cultural experience.”

Buldak macaroni and cheese will be available at Walmart from May through late fall.
