An Israeli attack on a team of paramedics in the southern Lebanese village of Mayfadoun killed three rescue workers and injured six others in three consecutive strikes, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
A paramedic team from the Islamic Health Committee was first struck while on a rescue mission. When a second ambulance attempted to rescue those paramedics, Israel struck it too. Two ambulances sought to reach the site of the attack but were also targeted by Israel, with two more rescue workers killed, the health ministry said.
The Israeli military killed a Lebanese Red Cross paramedic in a drone strike on Sunday, according to the Red Cross, and has repeatedly targeted ambulances around the country.
Separately, the Israeli military forced contractors with UNFIL, the UN peacekeeping force in Lebanon, to turn back while on a “routine convoy”, according to a UNIFIL statement.
