KUNA, IDAHO — American Ostrich Farms is launching a line of snack sticks formulated with ostrich meat and beef, marking the company’s first shelf-stable and ready-to-eat product.
The snacks are available in original and jalapeño varieties. Each stick features 9 grams of protein, between 60 and 70 calories, and less than 1 gram of sugar.
“We don’t think consumers need another version of the same meat stick,” said Alex McCoy, founder and chief executive officer of American Ostrich Farms. said. “Ostrich gave us the opportunity to make something genuinely different without asking people to change the way they snack or give up the red meat they love.”
The snack sticks may be purchased online through the company’s website and Amazon.
