
CHICAGO — ADM has introduced eight protein products in North America and Europe to meet growing consumer demand for a wider variety of protein options.
The ingredients include:
- ProFam 883, a soy protein isolate that offers high solubility and dispersibility for protein beverages and powders.
- ProFam 894, a soy protein isolate for Greek-style yogurt alternatives, yogurt beverages and dairy alternatives.
- Arcon IH, a lower viscosity, functional soy protein concentrate intended to maintain the texture and juiciness in ham and pork chops.
- Arcon SB, a soy protein concentrate that may improve product yield in such applications as sausages and ground meats.
- Arcon 412, a soy protein concentrate that enhances the texture and juiciness in deli meat and chicken nugget applications.
- Pea Flour, an ingredient that offers minimal formulation impact and contains fiber for such applications as batters and breadings along with baked foods and cereals, according to the company.
- European-sourced Arcon R, a soy protein concentrate that enhances high and low moisture extrusion for meat alternatives, meat extension, bakery applications and dry extrusion.
- European-sourced Arcon T, a portfolio of textured soy protein concentrates intended for extended meat products and plant-based alternatives.
“By expanding our protein portfolio, we’re giving customers more precise, functional solutions that will perform across a wide range of applications,” said Tony Payne, senior director of creation, design and development at ADM. “This is about delivering choice and giving consumers access to protein sources that are backed by decades of plant-based expertise and global innovation.”
