ANAHEIM, CALIF. — New products were on full display at the annual Natural Products Expo West trade show. The show, held from March 3-6, garnered more than 60,000 attendees and 3,000 exhibitors, according to organizers of the event.
Many products introduced were focused on attributes like protein and other functional ingredients.
Systm Foods unveiled a line of clear protein beverages under its Rebbl brand. The drinks feature 20 grams of protein derived from whey and electrolytes from 300 mgs of potassium, 100 mgs of magnesium and 95 mgs of sodium. The zero sugar beverages are expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2026, with mixed berry, lemon lime, strawberry watermelon and mandarin orange flavors.
“For too long, protein has meant heavy shakes that feel more like a meal than a beverage,” said Elizabeth Stephenson, chief executive officer of Systm Foods. “Rebbl clear protein breaks that mold, delivering complete protein in a light, refreshing, zero sugar beverage that consumers will want to reach for throughout the day.”
Meat snack manufacturer Chomps introduced a chicken meat snack. The company’s first chicken-based product offers 12 grams of protein per serving. Varieties include original chicken and Nashville hot. The company also is launching a savory breakfast variety intended to extend the meat snack format into the morning daypart.
“We saw a clear gap: America’s most consumed protein wasn’t meaningfully represented in a category we’ve helped grow,” said Rashid Ali, chief executive officer and co-founder of Chomps. “Chicken isn’t just another product line; it’s an opportunity to reshape an underdeveloped segment and continue to raise the bar for what consumers can expect.”
