KANSAS CITY — Operators are debuting a slate of limited-time offerings across foodservice menus.
For instance, Yum! Brands subsidiary Taco Bell is innovating on the success of its cheesy street chalupa with the launch of chicken bacon ranch street chalupas. The LTO features roasted chicken, bacon, pico de gallo, shredded cheddar cheese, avocado ranch sauce and cheddar street chalupa shells.
“Chicken bacon ranch is a flavor that people instantly recognize and love,” said Liz Matthews, global chief food innovation officer at Taco Bell. “By pairing it with our street chalupas — a form that earns more and more fans with each passing iteration — we’re giving this iconic combo a new platform to shine in a way that’s unmistakably Taco Bell.”
Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill + Bar has introduced two Cajun-inspired dishes: the bayou shrimp bowl and the big easy burger. The bowl features blackened shrimp, Andouille sausage, green beans, bell peppers, onions, Spanish rice and a Cajun sauce. The big easy burger combines a beef burger patty with Andouille sausage, pepper jack cheese, spicy honey mustard and citrus slaw.
Taco Cabana is adding several limited-time items to its menu. The offerings include two popcorn shrimp-focused items, the popcorn shrimp taco duo and the popcorn shrimp wrap; a series of fajita melt tacos utilizing grilled chicken or grilled steak; and the guest-inspired chamoy cherry bomb margarita featuring black cherry purée and chamoy.
“We’re creating a powerful point of entry for guests, while the expanded lineup of tacos, shrimp and our fan-created margarita underscores our broader strategy to drive choice, value and relevance across multiple dining occasions,” said Ulyses Camacho, president and chief operating officer of Taco Cabana.
