THORNTON, COLO. — Solina, a Paris-based company that manufactures customized ingredient solutions for savory food manufacturers, has acquired Epicurean Butter from Chicago-based private equity firm HC Private Investments. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Founded in 2004, Epicurean Butter produces flavored butter products aimed at improving the quality and taste for a range of food applications. Epicurean Butter sells branded and private label products for store bakeries, meal kits, traditional grocery retail and foodservice operators.
HC Private Investments said it began partnering with Epicurean’s founders John and Janey Hubschman in 2019 and provided capital that supported the company’s sales growth and manufacturing capabilities.
“Customers are looking for partners who can help them move quickly, create differentiated food experiences and bring new ideas to market with confidence,” said Michael Marks, regional chief executive officer of Solina USA. “Epicurean brings exactly that combination of culinary creativity, technical expertise and entrepreneurial spirit, expanding our capabilities in dairy and unlocking new opportunities to support our customers across the US market.”
Solina’s portfolio includes a variety of flavor and functional solutions, sauce and culinary solutions, coating solutions, vegetable solutions, sweet solutions and packaging solutions for food manufacturers, foodservice operators and fresh specialty retailers.
