SANDY, UTAH — Ambrosia Collective is unveiling an air-based protein powder made with Solar Foods’ Solein ingredient, a protein formulated with carbon dioxide and electricity. Planta Powered by Solein contains 20 grams of protein per serving and is available in a salted caramel cold brew flavor.
The ready-t0-mix powder is formulated through a fermentation process that blends carbon dioxide, hydrogen, renewable electricity and microorganisms, according to the company.
“For decades, Americans have had to choose between whey protein and traditional plant-based proteins, each with their own compromises and considerations,” said Sean Torbati, co-founder of Ambrosia Collective. “Planta Powered by Solein introduces a new option aligned with wellness goals and values. By combining air-based Solein with Planta’s premium plant ingredients, we’ve created a protein that delivers the performance consumers expect while addressing concerns around heavy metals, sustainability, digestibility and supply constraints.”
The powder may be purchased online through the company’s website. An Amazon rollout is expected this month, according to the company.
